Welcome to Hawaii Bronze

Allen Ipo Auwae was born in Hilo (Keaukaha) on the Big Island of Hawaii. Allen is the fourteenth of sixteen children born to Henry Allen Auwae of Kohala and Agnes (Kela) Auwae of Puna, also on the Big Island. Primarily figurative and portraiture, Allen is an artist who creates fine arts in bronze. He has a body of sculpture work that captures a unique perspective on Hawaiian cultural art with his message caught in a moment of time.

Today, Hawaii artist and Vietnam veteran Allen Ipo Auwae presented his bust of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole to my office. It is my privilege to display this sculpture of our most revered statesmen who fiercely served his people here in our nation’s Capitol.
